The Curve Ball
As most of you already know, i have been thrown a curve ball in life. Things were going fine and fast as they do most of the time. Work at the mill was and is in "Rapid Transformation" as we were getting used to our new owner's way of doing business and changing to the new computer systems required to do this Transformation. We had lost a 10 year old nephew in an automobile accident and I had been asked to take part in his funeral service. One of the most emotional and stressful services I have ever done. I had had a physical and had some chest painst to tell the Dr. about. After passing the stress test and the pains continuning and putting off twice a visit to get a die test done, I had finally made it to Little Rock. "BAM" Next day, rushed to the operating room. Four by-passes done. Now after a week in the hospital and a week at home i finally feel like writing again. Many emotions on a ragged edge and often uncontrolable. Thoughts about the lifestyle i was living, the fast track i have been on. The sense of peace with what God is doing has flooded my mind and i can say with Joshua, no matter what...

What's next? I don't know yet. I am going to take the next few weeks very slow and easy. I need to heal both physically and emotionally. This is what that curve ball was for. Be still and know.

Thank you for your calls, cards, prayers and expressions of love.

Word for the Week
APOSTASY (a-pos ta-sy)
Is the act of rebellion against, forsaking, abandoning, or falling away from what one has believed. Backsliding leads to apostasy. Some reasons for backsliding are:
1) Absence of spiritual leaders
2) Evil associations
3) Worldly success
4) Love of the world
5) Shallowness

2000 Baptist Faith and Message

All true believers endure to the end. Those whom God has accepted in Christ, and sanctified by His Spirit, will never fall away from the state of grace, but shall persevere to the end. Believers may fall into sin through neglect and temptation, whereby they grieve the Spirit, impair their graces and comforts, and bring reproach on the cause of Christ and temporal judgments on themselves; yet they shall be kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation.

Hunting Season is every day for the christian.

Hunting season is now here. We all enjoy the time outdoors and the cool weather. This is a quiet time to ponder on matters of the heart, take a nap, or just enjoy God's creation and creatures. You will have the opportunity to reach out to many people in the next few weeks. Please invite a new camp member to church, share your salvation experience, ask about theirs, there are many ways to share your faith. Thank God for the season, his blessings, and YOUR CHURCH.

Last Sunday's Message
What does the Bible say about divorce?
*Divorce is not God's Ideal, 1 man 1 woman forever; Genesis Chapters1, 2, 3; Leave, Cleave, Weave, but because of sin, divorce is His concession. Deuteronomy 24
*Divorce is not commanded, God desires permanenance but because of sin, divorce is permitted. Matthew 19:1
*Divorce is not a first option, it is a last resort. 1 Corinthians 7:10-16

God is compassionate and wants us to be compassionate. Is there hope for those who have broken God's rules? YES there is hope. 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive our sins.
